OSCB to disburse Rs 8K crore crop loan this year

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Co-operative Bank Limited (OSCBL) has set a target to dole out a total of Rs 8,000 crore as short-term crop loans during the current fiscal 2014-15. The targeted amount is 13 per cent increase in comparison to last year’s loan amount of the same category.

The bank has also decided to dispense Rs 4,200 during Kharif and Rs 3,800 during Rabi crop season. In financial year (FY) 2013-14, this apex cooperative body of the State had disbursed Rs 7090.27 crore to 28.66 lakh farmers. The loan amount was 101 per cent of targeted amount of Rs 7,000 crore
It may be noted here that, an average of 65 per cent of crop loan is being provided to the farmers each year by the OSCBL. A total of 2705 Primary Agriculture Credit Co-operative Societies under 17 Central Co-operative Banks are supporting in giving the credit amount.

While the current Kharif season started from April 1, the OSCB has set credit targets for Central Co-operative banks operating in different parts of the State. Sambalpur District Co-operative Bank has been given highest credit disbursement target of Rs 715 crore.

Credit targets set for other 16 Central Co-operative banks are as follows: Cuttack (Rs 660 cr), Balasore-Bhadrak (Rs 600 cr), Angul (310 cr), Koraput (210 cr), Khurdha (Rs 200 cr) and Sundargarh (Rs 200 cr), Bolangir (Rs 160 cr), Nayagarh (140 cr), Banki (Rs 150 cr), Berhampur (Rs 150 cr), Mayurbhanj (Rs 130 cr), Aska (Rs 125 cr), Boudh (Rs 120 cr), Keojhar (Rs 120 cr), Puri-Nimapara (Rs 110 cr) and Bhawanipatna (Rs 100 cr).

Koraput District Co-operative Bank had registered the highest 118 per cent credit disbursement during 2013-14.
