Bharat Raksha Manch seeks Sadhvi Pragya’s release, threatens nationwide stir

Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: The Bharat Raksha Manch, Odisha unit on Friday staged a demonstration here at Master Canteen square demanding immediate release of Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, who has been languishing in jail since last six years for her alleged involvement in Malegaon blast case in 2008.

Taking out the protest rally activists of the Manch led by its national secretary Anil Dhir and State unit general secretary Murali Manohar Sharma urged the Union and Maharashtra Governments to ensure her release from jail at the earliest.

The Manch has been observing October 10, the day Sadhvi was arrested, as black day nationally since 2008.

The Manch submitted a memorandum to the Union and Maharashtra Governments through the Governor to this effect too.

Earlier on October 6, a delegation of the Manch led by Dhir, Odisha unit general secretary Murali Manohar Sharma and others had met Sadhvi in hospital at Bhopal.

“The torture has rendered her immobile, with half her body being paralysed. She needs support to sit,” said Dhir.

Alleging that she has been languishing in jail since last six years while the investigating agencies are unable to submit a charge-sheet against her, Dhir stated that due to the toxicity of the repeated Narco tests, she has been afflicted with cancer.

Manch State unit general secretary Murali Manohar Sharma said that a nationwide agitation would be launched if Sadhvi is not released from jail at the earliest.
