Taiwan-CPC to set up Rs 43,000 crore petrochemical unit in Paradip


Bhubaneswar, August 2, 2018: Ahead of ‘Make In Odisha’ Conclave 2018 in Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday met a delegation from CPC Corporation, Taiwan led by Chairman Shun-Chin Lee. The CPC proposed to set-up of petrochemical unit for Rs 43,000 crore in the PCPIR region of Paradip.

The proposed project will be developed in Paradip using feedstock from IOCL.
The project will boost the growth of downstream industries and create a foundation for closer economic ties between Taiwan and Odisha.

“The Odisha Industrial Development Plan 2025 identifies Chemicals and Petrochemicals as a key sector. We are committed to creating a favourable business environment, provide industry ready infrastructure and offer skilled workforce to our investors. Odisha has consistently ranked amongst the top three States in the country for live manufacturing investment and project implementation,” said Patnaik.

The delegation also met Union Petroleum and Natural Gas, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who hails from Odisha and sough his cooperation to realise the project.
